Overview
Arnold Road offers support to ten adults with a learning disability and associated physical disabilities. Each person is encouraged to continue, develop and experience a wide range of activities with full support. We have links with the local community as well as with specialist services in the area so the people we support can enjoy hydrotherapy or sensory facilities.
Facilities
The property has eight spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, high specification level access shower room. All bedrooms and bathrooms have the potential for ceiling mounted sling hoists, with tracking between, to provide safe, comfortable and dignified support to those who may require this facility. There is also a specialist bathroom which everyone can use.
We encourage people to bring their own belongings and to decorate their rooms in the style they prefer. The communal areas include a large lounge, a kitchen/dining room and an activity room. We also have two flats attached to the main building which consist of a spacious bedroom, a bathroom and a large kitchen/living area. These are finished to a very high specification and can be modified to suit needs as required.
The bathrooms have level access showers and the kitchens feature height adjustable cooking facilities. These flats are designed for individuals who may require less support, or those who prefer a little more space. They allow a more independent style of living, with the security of 24-hour support from the staff team. There is a garden with a lawn and a sensory area to the rear of the building, as well as a large, level access patio area. We also have a large wheelchair accessible car for the sole use of those who live at our home.
Community
We are situated in Bestwood in the suburbs of Nottingham, close to a wide range of community facilities, many within walking distance. These include local shops, a post office and health services. Our home is also within easy reach of Nottingham town centre.
