Adult Sensory Team - Specialist Support For People With Sight Loss

Overview

Monday - Friday

The Adult Sensory Team is here to support Nottingham City residents who have un-correctable sight loss or dual sensory loss (a loss of sight and hearing).
Does your visual impairment or dual sensory loss affect how you manage your day, such as:

Using a phone or reading
Managing glare or bright light
Pouring of drinks
Preparing food
Using household appliances
Being able to get out and about

We can assess your needs and work with you to increase your independence and safety. We ordinarily work with you in your own home and where appropriate, we can provide mobility training to enable you to access the community safely.
We can help you understand your diagnosis, explain about the certificate of visual impairment and being registered visually impaired, as well as looking at specialist equipment, training (rehabilitation) and services which may enhance your independence.
