Overview

I am an Ofsted registered childminder, a member of Coram PACEY and I have been caring for children since 2010.

I am also a qualified Primary School teacher, having worked in local schools in the Newark area. I have also worked as a specialist teacher for Nottinghamshire County Council in the Schools & Families Specialist Service, which supports children from birth to 5 years with complex needs.

I am based in Elston and can offer a warm and welcoming home which backs on to open farmland with a large front and back garden. The ground floor of the house is used for childminding and the children have access to a conservatory, kitchen/family room and hall in which to play and relax with a wide range of toys and books to suit children of all ages and needs. I offer great activities and outings, home cooked food and snacks and a home from home family environment for your child to enjoy.

Children are at the heart of my service and I offer a loving, safe environment where all children are welcomed and learning through play is actively encouraged. Every child is unique and special and my goal is to make them feel happy, secure, independent and confident whilst making new friends and having fun. I believe that children blossom in a fun environment where they are loved, encouraged, talked to intelligently and played with, to help them develop self-esteem, confidence, build positive relationships, respect one another and learn strong values. From the initial query, right through to children starting at Ecco’s, my priority is to be as welcoming and supportive as possible. Enabling a child to feel secure and happy at a time of change is crucial and families are invited for an initial visit and then settling in visits can also be discussed at this point. I try to be as flexible as possible and work around the child’s needs.

All Ofsted registered childminders are inspected on a 3 yearly basis. I was thrilled to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ at my first inspection in July 2011 and ‘Outstanding’ again in my second inspection in October 2015. At my recent Ofsted inspection in May 2022, I was pleased to receive a ‘Met’ judgement which is the best outcome I could have achieved as I was inspected as an out of school and holiday care provision. This is because I no longer care for early years children during the day in term time. Out of school and holiday care provision inspections are not graded.
