APTCOO is a Short Breaks provider and delivers after-school and school holiday activities for families of SEND young people. Short Breaks are for young people with SEND from age 5 to 18 years old and give the young people a chance to:
Short breaks give children and young people with SEND the chance to:
- spend time away from their parents and carers
- gain and promote independence
- relax and have fun with their friends
- develop their independence
- take part in community-based activities
- make new friends
- broaden their horizons
They are for those young people who aren't able to use the general, mainstream services available to everyone. Short breaks can include after-school activities, school holiday activities, one-to-one support.

Our school holiday activities are funded via the holiday activities and food (HAF) programme. We provide healthy meals and enriching activities free to those in receipt of free school meals. The aim of the programme is:
- to support children to eat healthily
- to support children to active during school holidays
- to support children in their understanding of health and nutrition
- to support families to be engaged with local support services
Our after-school activities include sensory play, arts, crafts, baking, sports, games and visits to local parks.
