Autism East Midlands - Whitegates Respite Service

We offer specialist respite support to autistic individuals, offering families and carers a break from their caring role for a few days or a few weeks.

We offer specialist support to people, whilst also providing their families and carers with the chance to take a break from their caring role for a few days or a few weeks.

The building has six self-contained apartments, where specialist autism-focused and one-to-one support is provided.

Set within extensive private grounds, the apartments each have their own lounge area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. While staying here, individuals have access to a shared outdoor gym and to the spacious gardens that surround the house.

Service users and staff work together to plan activities that support service users with their independence and social and emotional wellbeing. This could include activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, cleaning, and gardening but also extends out into activities in the community.

Whitegates is a short distance of Worksop town centre and is a five-minute drive from the National Trust’s Clumber Park. Just a short walk away is The Training, Employment and Social Enterprise Centre, a service which is also run by Autism East Midlands that helps autistic individuals find employment and gain training.
