Overview
Specialist Residential Nursing Care, Nottingham
Coveberry Sherwood supports men and women with enduring mental health disorders and associated behavioural support needs which may disrupt their ability to consistently function independently or as part of a community, participate in employment, maintain positive relationships or cope with the demands of every-day life.
The service is situated on the outskirts of Nottingham city centre and offers a gateway to a diverse range of educational, vocational and social activities.
Our experienced, nurse led teams, work collaboratively to develop personalised care and treatment plans that seek to maximise community integration, independence, engagement and quality of life and support individuals to acquire or reacquire the skills needed to live more independently.
Support is tailored to meet the needs of each individual and will be adapted as they develop resilience, coping strategies, confidence and self-reliance. We use the principles of recovery star in our work, which gives the user of the service greater choice and control over care, allowing residents to set and achieve their own goals and develop autonomy.
We seek to maximise mental wellbeing, (which includes elements that are key to optimum functioning and independence, such as life satisfaction, optimism, self-esteem, feeling in control, having a purpose in life and a sense of belonging) physical health, social functioning and improve quality of life.
Many of our residents have transitioned from secure or acute mental health services and require a period of rehabilitation, prior to discharging into the community. Individuals who have experienced a breakdown in their community placement and require a period of stabilisation to reduce acute symptoms may also benefit from a period of admission.
In addition to the main service, we have four transitional living flats, which enables us to consolidate skills, identity areas that need more work and risk assess in an environment that replicates home.
