Overview

Nottinghamshire Eating Disorder Service

The Nottinghamshire Eating Disorder Service is a multi-disciplinary service offering support to adults in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire with more severe presentations of Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. We do not have a fixed BMI criterion for referrals and are open to people of all genders, race and age 18 or over - eating disorders can affect anyone.

Following referral to our service and being accepted, service users can expect to receive a compassionate and considerate assessment of their difficulties with a highly skilled member of our team. Assessments last around 90 minutes and can be offered in person or via video. Our team discusses each referral collectively, helping to develop a care plan for the service user drawing on all of our knowledge and experience.

Interventions within our service draw on national guidelines and evidence-based therapies such as MANTRA and CBT-E. We offer interventions drawing on occupational therapy, art therapy, dietetics, community support and peer support. Every service user is considered as an individual with their own unique needs, and all care plans are discussed and agreed with each service user.

We take referrals from healthcare professionals and ask that our referral form is completed and sent to
NEDSAdmin@nottshc.nhs.u
