Larkfields Infant School is a welcoming and inclusive infant school in Nuthall, Nottinghamshire. Our ethos, “Being the best that we can be,” is underpinned by our values of Achieve, Belonging and Confidence. We believe that every child deserves the very best start to their education and should feel safe, valued and that they belong within our school community.
We are committed to identifying and supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at the earliest opportunity. We recognise that every child is unique and work closely with children, families and external professionals to understand individual strengths and needs and to put appropriate support in place.
Our approach is based on high-quality inclusive teaching, alongside provision that is additional to or different from that ordinarily available where this is required. Support may include reasonable adjustments, targeted interventions, adapted learning opportunities, communication and interaction support, sensory and emotional regulation approaches, and personalised provision linked to individual outcomes.
As an infant school, we place particular importance on early identification and intervention, positive relationships and working in partnership with parents and carers. Our aim is to remove barriers to learning and participation so that children with SEND can develop their independence, confidence and communication, make progress from their individual starting points and participate fully in school life.
