Outdoor and Environmental Education in the Peak District: St Michael’s Environmental Education Centre

Overview

Based in the heart of the Peak District, St Michael’s Environmental Education Centre is part of Notts Outdoors, the outdoor and environmental education service from Nottinghamshire County Council. It is a 38 bed residential venue providing environmental education to primary pupils for all schools in Nottinghamshire as well as being available for private hire for other groups.

This service predominately provides outdoor learning experiences for children and young people that are safe, enriching, educational and fun, encouraging all children across Nottinghamshire to develop a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Centre and attached Holiday Cottage can also be booked separately for private use.

A range of First Aid Training is available, delivered by Notts Outdoors and enquiries can be made through St Michael’s.

The Centre has comfortable dormitory style accommodation with bunk beds, ideal for larger groups of all types. The Centre benefits from a lovely central hall which provides a fantastic communal kitchen, dining and lounge area for enjoyable shared living. The Centre also has an attached cottage which can be booked separately or as part of a larger booking.
