Owl Guardian Services are here to help. From vulnerable adults living alone to families who are struggling to help a loved one, we can take away the worry of coping with money management so that you can spend more time doing the things that really matter.

What do we do?

This service is offered for clients who are deemed to lack mental capacity and unable to manage their own affairs. A Deputyship Order from the Court of Protection allows us to act on behalf of the client in dealing with their property and finances. There are very strict guidelines on how this service is managed, and the work is overseen by the Office of the Public Guardian.

Appointeeship

This provision is for people who require support with managing their benefit income.

An application is made to the Department of Works and Pensions, who will assess the claimant for granting an Appointeeship. The benefit income is then paid to the Appointee who ensures that the client's needs are met, their bills are paid and the income is managed appropriately.

General Power of Attorney

Owl Guardian Services support people who may be unwell or struggling to manage their affairs but have full capacity to appoint an attorney. A General Power of Attorney is especially suited to someone who is in the position of having to move into a care home and requires support with finding the right care placement, sorting out their home and contents, ending a tenancy or selling a property.

We understand how unsettling and worrying this time can be, but we aim to make the transition as smooth as possible, whilst being sensitive to our client's needs.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

A Lasting Power of Attorney is registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. It allows us to continue to act on behalf of an individual (in property and financial affairs) if and when they are unable to make decisions for themselves at a future point in time.
