SAIS - School Aged Immunisation Service

Overview

We offer routine vaccinations to school aged children in line with the vaccination schedule. These are delivered normally in the school setting, but can also be delivered during a clinic for children that cannot have their vaccines in school or are Electively Home Educated.

Who are we?

We are a team of skilled and experienced nurses and support staff.

What do we do?

We deliver the school-based vaccination programme in Nottinghamshire County and Nottingham City. The programme is offered in schools; however, clinics and home visits are offered when a need is identified.

What vaccinations do we deliver?

The service offers the following immunisation programmes in schools:

  • Seasonal Flu vaccination (in primary school years Reception to Year 6; in Secondary School Year 7 to 11 and within Special Schools).
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination to protect against cervical cancer (in Secondary School Year 8).
  • Meningitis ACWY vaccinations (in Secondary School Year 9).
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (in Secondary School Year 9).

How do you arrange a vaccination?

It’s as easy as 1,2,3…

  1. Arrange an appointment
  2. Complete the online consent
  3. Receive the vaccination
