The Adventure Service - Day Service

Open Monday to Friday 9:00am-4:00pm

Since 2011, it has been our sole mission to help Adults with additional support needs, achieve their potential through adventure.

Unlike traditional day services, we spend every day in the great outdoors. Whether that’s climbing a rock face at Burbage Edge or paddling at our dedicated sailing club. We can also be lighting fires at our top secret bushcraft site in Edwinstowe or crawling and squeezing through one of the many caving systems.

Put it this way, if you associate it with the outdoors or adventure, you can be pretty sure that we will run it as a session.

Open from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, there’s plenty of chances to come on an adventure with us.

Having a site in Mansfield Woodhouse (HQ), Top Valley and Chesterfield, gives us great access to all areas of Nottinghamshire. You won’t have to travel much over 30 minutes to get to any of our sites, regardless of where you live in the county.

The location of these sites also gives us great access to The Peak District. Meaning that we can be out adventuring, within an hour of the Adventurers arriving.

Our Adventurers all work towards individual targets and through our expert instruction and support, the skills that individuals develop during our sessions are transferable into other areas of their lives. For example, preparing and cooking a meal on a fire helps to develop relevant skills for living independently.

Before starting your adventure with us, we will carefully craft a support plan with you, designed around your specific support needs. Then, at the beginning of each day, our qualified instructor will detail how, together, you can make sure that you achieve your targets.

Aside from getting to us for 9:00am and leaving us at 4:00pm, we provide all the transport and equipment for every adventure, so there’s no need to go out and buy expensive climbing or caving equipment.

You will need to bring a packed lunch, however. There isn’t anything worse that being out on an Adventure and being hungry. We have also put together a kit list, where you can find out what you’ll need to come ready with, for your first outing with us.

Times and availability

Adventurers provide their own transport to and from both of ours centres and then we provide transport to and from the session.
Specialist equipment is provided.
Adventurers will need to provide sturdy boots, a waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers and a day rucksack.

Age Range: 18+

Costings are different depending on which council you fall under. Please get in touch and we will point you in the right direction.
