Overview
Parents may register their interest in a place at Nottingham Nursery School by putting their child's details on waiting list. When a place become available, the nursery will contact the parent at the top of the waiting list.
We are limited to the number of 2 year old children we can take in any session:
Part Time Places for 2 Year Olds
Part time places, 15 hours a week, are offered in two sessions. Children can attend nursery during term time for 3 hours a day Monday to Friday. This is offered as Morning sessions 08:45 - 11:45, or Afternoon sessions 12:30 - 15:30. There will be no charge as long as your child is eligible for government funding. Parents/Carers need to apply for free Early Years Funding and provide nursery with a copy of entitlement letter or email to confirm eligibility.
Full Time Places for 2 Year Olds
Eligible parents/carers can access 30 hours of childcare per week during term time. This is offered as a full day session, Monday to Friday 08:45 - 14:45.

Our 2 year olds have a room specially designed for them, with activities and equipment specifically selected to support 2 year olds' development. Furthermore, 2 year old children are supported at a ratio of 1:5 and there are 4 qualified staff who are the 2 year olds' key workers. The 2 year olds form a group known as Lions, and they have the first hour of the session together with their key workers before continuous provision starts. During this time, they are offered a snack and a drink. They are also able to have 15 minutes outside before the 3 and 4 year olds join them, returning to their room for the last hour of their session for singing, rhymes, stories and preparing to be collected. Depending on total numbers in the Nursery the 2 year olds will move to a group of younger 3 year olds around their third birthday, to a room and new key worker with whom they will already be familiar and to whom parents/carers will be introduced.
In line with the revised EYFS, parents/carers of 2 year old children will receive a progress check in their first term.
There is an expectation for our funding that all 2 year olds attend for a minimum of 85% of their possible sessions. This is monitored and if they do not meet this target, funding from the local authority may be withdrawn and the child's place may be offered to someone else.
Part Time places for 3 and 4 Year Olds
Children can attend nursery during term time for 3 hours a day Monday to Friday (15 hours per week). This is offered as Morning sessions (8:45 - 11:45am) or Afternoon sessions (12:30 - 3:30pm). There will be no charge as long as your child is eligible for government funding.
Full Time places 3 and 4 Year Olds
Some families are eligible for 30 hours of childcare per week during term time. This is offered as full day sessions, Monday to Friday 8:45am - 2:45pm. Local Offer
The Local Authority and schools in Nottingham City have worked together to develop Nottingham City Schools Provision Maps. These maps provide a framework for provision in Nottingham and show interventions that it is reasonable for schools to provide to pupils identified with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our school makes provision for pupils with SEND in line with this framework. The detail of the provision will vary year on year according to the needs of the pupils.
The provision maps may be found at the link below.
For further details about the school's provision please contact the school directly.
