The Secret Garden Private Day Nursery

The nursery asks new starters to make numerous visits prior to an arranged start date, for which no charge will be made. We feel this process plays an important role in the "settling in" period for both the child and the parents/carers. We also allow parents to initially stay with their child for as long as they feel they need to during the early days, whether it be 3, 4 or 5 total sessions or simply to stay half an hour at every session should they so wish. Staff also welcome and encourage parents involvement in this procedure, as we all realise it can be just as upsetting for the parent/carer as it can be for the children.
The visits enable us to discuss children's needs and requirements before starting the nursery.

We use an online system called 'Famly' and this send parents notifications when we've uploaded observations or photographs of their child.
The staff team will speak to parents/carers after each session to explain how their child has been and what they've done at nursery.
Each term children have a focus week and parents are invited in to discuss children's progress and development.
