Qualitrain Engineering Academy offers unemployed jobseekers the chance to study and learn about welding and metal fabrication at our Engineering Academy in Alfreton, Derbyshire.
We work closely with the Jobcentre to help people who want to gain valuable skills in welding and fabrication, the course is 5 weeks long and is full time.
You will learn create your own metal toolbox from start to finish using a range of hand tools and manual Machines, and also learn how to set up Welding kits and MIG Weld 3 different types of positional joints using steel plate.
Drilling, marking out, reading engineering drawings, measuring and cutting, general workshop engineering safe operations and you will produce your own Air Engine.
Everyone who completes the course will be guaranteed an interview for local work.
Jobcentre funding is based on the benefits each person is in receipt of.
We usually fund this course through non DWP funding as it results in a full Level 2 Performing Manufacturing Operations qualification.

Times and availability
There is a lot of work on this course so we need to run it full time for 5 weeks in order to get you trained correctly.

Qualitrain Engineering Academy is on major bus routes from Nottingham and Derby and is also a short walk from Alfreton Train Station and the town centre.
We do have parking spaces if you are travelling in by car.
