Support for Children & Young People experiencing emotional and mental health problems and queries related to Autism and/or ADHD.
Overview
Nottingham City Council are commissioned by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to offer support and advice to Children, Young People and their Parents/Carers who are experiencing emotional and mental health concerns via Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and queries and support related to Autism and/or ADHD via The Neurodevelopmental Pathway & Support Team (NPST).There will be times when it is appropriate for Children and Young People to be open to both pathways at the same time as there will comorbid needs. However, the information required by each service is different at their focus, programmes of care and assessments differ.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
A wide range of services are available to support children and young people who may be struggling with their mental health.
The Neurodevelopmental Pathway & Support Team (NPST)
The Neurodevelopmental Pathway & Support Team (NPST) is the starting point of the neurodevelopmental pathway for children/young people registered with a Nottingham City GP, where there are queries regarding possible Autism and/or ADHD. The team works with families and other professionals to determine whether a referral to a Community Paediatrician is needed for a clinical assessment of Autism and/or ADHD. The team also offer post diagnostic support to Parents and Carers in the form of evidence based programmes.
