Overview
About us
We exist to help all Muslim women to succeed in Nottingham by empowering Muslim women and girls by challenging attitudes that hold them back.
Legal surgeries
We run regular family law surgeries and drop ins to help Muslim women who experience violence or abuse in their marriages or close relationships. No woman should suffer in silence and we can help you to understand your position and access the right services.
Our surgeries are run by legal professionals and you can confidentially talk about divorce, child contact, domestic abuse, FGM and forced marriage. We also provide advice and advocacy on wider issues like housing debt and disability.
Connecting community members and decision makers.
We work to create real positive change by bridging the gap between the experiences and views of community members and frontline professionals and policymakers.
The projects we run shine a light on critical issues, particularly hate crime, domestic abuse and gender-based discrimination. We push for change with campaigning, advocacy and capacity building, all through the lens of the lived experience of Muslim women.
Our expertise and deep trust within the community means we are uniquely placed to offer consultancy, advice and training.
Our services are designed to empower Muslim women in Nottingham.
We provide regular advocacy drop-in sessions and legal surgeries to ensure community members have the knowledge they need to access support, as well as supporting and informing statutory bodies, frontline professionals and our partner organisations.
Ensuring all Muslim women can succeed is the starting point for our work. We work to challenge attitudes that can hold the Muslim community back, as well as giving the next generation the tools to develop as roles models who can shape the lives of those growing up around them.
