Overview
We currently have a programme of free skateboarding sessions and workshops for 6 Saturdays in the autumn of 2026, at 3 different locations: King Edward Park (Sneinton), 12th and 19th September; Ashley Mabbott Skatepark (Broxtowe Country Park), 26th September and 3rd October; and Tram Line Spot (city centre), 10th and 17th October.
Skate Nottingham is a non-profit place-making, sports development and alternative education organisation rooted in Nottingham’s globally significant skateboarding community. We use skateboarding as a tool to unlock learning and creativity, with an aim to raise the profile of skateboarding as a positive, healthy and creative activity that contributes to Nottingham's social, cultural and economic development. Our activities include free coached skateboarding sessions for all aged 7+, with skateboards and helmets provided (targeted in some of the city and county's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods); women and girls' only sessions, led by women coaches; pop-up arts and creative workshops across a range of disciplines, from drawing and design to graffiti, t-shirt screen-printing, woodwork, photography and filmmaking; 'care and repair ' sessions to improve public spaces with volunteers, supervised by skatepark experts who teach participants skills essential to the construction trades; and large-scale events, such as our Skateboarding in the City festivals (the 2025 edition engaged more than 500 people in 4-days of free city centre jams, workshops, film screenings and panel talks). We've led on the development of 10 skateparks or other outdoor public spaces since 2016, and work with young people and built environment professionals to ensure Nottingham leads the way in youth-led co-design.

Costs
All our sessions are free, but the minimum age for participation is 7 - required by our insurance. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes after the session begins to avoid disappointment. Please wear appropriate footwear (trainers or other shoes with a flat, grippy sole which fully cover the foot - no heels, flip-flops, sandals or crocs).
Referral
Please contact us at contact@skatenottingham.co.uk if you'd like to refer a service user/s (individual or peer group) to our sessions or workshops - we'd love to be able to accommodate them, but would need to discuss their needs and the likely content and the outcomes of the session or workshop with you to ensure it's right for them.
