Profile

I’m an experienced and reliable Personal Assistant with over 22 years of supporting vulnerable adults to live more confidently and independently. I bring a calm, organised and person centred approach, with strong experience in housing, benefits, health and wellbeing, daily living skills and practical problem solving and mentoring.

I’m passionate about fairness, advocacy and helping people reduce stress in their day to day lives. I am fully insured, DBS checked, have up to date training in Safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act, and other mandatory training, and can provide references on request.

I’m fit and healthy and partake in yoga, pilates and I have a personal trainer. I have a good sense of humour, enjoy good food, cooking, reading and getting out for a walk in the forest with my ‘borrowed’ dog, Spud. My favourite places to visit are Northumberland and Scotland for the beautiful scenery and hiking.

I began my career as a volunteer with Victim Support and The Advocacy Alliance. Over the past 22 years I have worked with vulnerable adults across several charities, in varying roles from senior support worker to advanced practitioner and managerial, providing support, advocacy, and guidance to individuals with a wide range of needs.

I can provide support with the following:

• Housing and tenancy related support, including housing applications/homeless prevention

• Managing finances and budgeting/debt

• Benefits – general advice and applications inc. Attendance Allowance, Universal Credit and Blue Badges

• Light hoarding support and gentle, sensitive decluttering

• Admin tasks, reading correspondence and taking action

• Light cleaning and household organisation

• Meal preparation and planning

• Shopping (with you or on your behalf)

• Social activities, community engagement and confidence building

• Transport to appointments and support while attending

• Emotional support

• Advocacy and speaking up on your behalf when needed
