Job Description
Hourly rate: £15.66
A lady in her early 50s living in Ravenshead (NG15) is seeking a reliable, friendly, and flexible Personal Assistant to support her with day to day living. She uses a powered wheelchair and requires assistance with transfers using a rotunda. Support is needed Monday to Friday for lunchtime and teatime visits (1 hour each), plus 6hrs flexible hours each week for social support and attending appointments, to be agreed with employer based on appointment times etc. (16 hours a week total) The client communicates her needs clearly and values a warm, supportive working relationship. Flexibility is important, as hospital appointment days vary. The PA must be comfortable around animals and confident driving to appointments. Experience in moving and handling is essential. A contingency agency provides support on weekends and also covers during weekdays when needed, but reliability and good communication are expected.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting,
howering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support the individual to look after/care for pets.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.
• Assistance with transfers using a rotunda
• Making a fire (client has an open coal fire)
• Administering medication.
• The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You
could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
• You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer
immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to
an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
• Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a
satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

• Monday, 1 hour lunch-time / 1 hour tea-time 1 hour tea-time
• Tuesday, 1 hour lunch-time / 1 hour tea-time
• Wednesday, 1 hour lunch-time / 1 hour tea-time
• Thursday, 1 hour lunch-time / 1 hour tea-time
• Friday, 1 hour lunch-time / 1 hour tea-time

Required Training
Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role. Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.
