Job Description
Hourly rate: can be discussed
This is the support to a lady at age 40s living in the Arnold area of Nottingham. She has profound deafness and communicate through BSL. Cerebral palsy and epilepsy, also learning difficulties. She walks with a walking stick in the flat but outside for trips she has a wheelchair, she also needs to link arms when the surface is uneven because she can fall quite easily. She is looking for a female PA (An employer is able to claim an exemption under the Equality Act 2010)
The successful candidate will be required to have at least level 2 BSL or above, have knowledge of cerebral palsy and epilepsy training. She will need the PA to assist with the following,
PERSONAL CARE
Showering this requires personal contact to ensure washed properly and dried also to apply cream to stop chafing and any skin problems. To comb hair and put up. To dress and undress as mobility is a problem. Due to having epilepsy she has a rescue medication which need to be administered into the gum area if her seizures lasts longer than four minutes.
DOMESTIC DUTIES
Prepare meals, prompt for medication Household tasks such as light cleaning, washing etc. Take to hospital or Dr appointments so must be able to drive, Help with financial situations Some duties may include over night time care
