Neurodevelopmental support team

The Neurodevelopmental support team operates within the Family Service, offering early assistance to families concerned their child may have neurodevelopmental support needs suggestive of Autism or ADHD. Early support includes:

  • Triage of information, detailed review and evaluation to identify if referral to Tier/Level 3 Services is required, and
  • A variety of evidence-based interventions are available for families of children and young people exhibiting indicative behaviours of Autism and or ADHD, both before and after diagnosis.

Support will be available where there is no formal diagnosis of ASD or ADHD, but where behaviours maybe indicative or characteristic of these conditions, and also for families of children and young people diagnosed with ASD and or ADHD.

If you are a Nottingham City resident, please find further information, at Neurodevelopmental Pathway & Support Team (NPST) (Ask Lion - Nottingham City Directory)

Referral Pathways

Find the Neurodevelopmental referral pathways in the links below. (Please note that children registered with a Bassetlaw GP should follow the Bassetlaw pathway)

The Neurodevelopmental support team does not accept self-referrals direct from Families. Referrals must be made by a professional involved with your child and or family. For example, the Healthy Family Team or School setting. Please liaise with a professional involved with your child or family, e.g. Healthy Family Team or School setting.

The email for referrals is referralsnst.familyservice@nottscc.gov.uk

If a parent or professional wants to speak to a member of the Family service about a referral to the Neurodevelopmental support team, then please email the following addresses:

Enquiries: familyservicenst@nottscc.gov.uk

The "Right to Choose" allows families to pick a healthcare provider for their child's ADHD or Autism assessment. If a GP refers a child, the family can choose which hospital or service to use, including private providers that work with the NHS. The GP will discuss available options to help the family make an informed decision.
