Nottingham Mencap M8
Litter picking

The children attending Nottingham Mencap’s M8s group (8 to 18 year olds) took part in a litter picking activity, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Together, they filled approximately two bags of litter and were praised by the local bin collection team for their efforts.
It was a great opportunity for the children to learn about the importance of keeping our environment clean and taking pride in their community.
Visit to Green Hustle
The group also attended Green Hustle, where they enjoyed being out in the community, taking photos, and meeting new people.
It was lovely to catch up with representatives from Mencap on the day, and the children really enjoyed sharing those positive experiences with others.
Getting creative
Back at the service, the children learned about the life cycle of frogs and had fun creating their own mock versions of the different stages.
This was a great hands-on learning activity that encouraged creativity while helping them understand how frogs grow and develop.
Overall, it was a fun-filled month with plenty of learning, community engagement, and memorable experiences for the children.
Car Wash Fundraiser
Nottingham Mencap's Gener8 group have been working hard on their Volunteering and Helping Our Communities project, and finished this by running a fantastic Car Wash Fundraiser on 28th June.
The group loved being out in the sun and getting involved, and the day couldn't have gone better.
Thank you so much to everyone who came down to support!

Every Sensation children services

Every Sensation Children Services is based at Birchwood Grange, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and provides specialist short breaks for children and young people with complex needs, including autism, sensory processing differences, and physical disabilities.
Our sessions are person-centred and built around what each child enjoys and needs. We offer a range of indoor and outdoor activities, supported by a dedicated team who understand how to create a safe, enjoyable, and therapeutic environment.
Facilities include:
- Hydrotherapy Pool: Our 9x4m heated indoor pool is one of our most popular facilities. The pool has whirlpool options, LED mood lighting, and overhead tracking hoists to support children with physical disabilities. Sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis and tailored to each child, providing both therapeutic benefit and the simple pleasure of time in the water.
- Sensory Rooms: Our immersive sensory environments use projection technology, fibre optics, bubble tubes, and interactive equipment to create calming, stimulating spaces for children to explore at their own pace. These rooms are particularly beneficial for children who find the outside world overwhelming, giving them a controlled environment where they can decompress and engage.
- Rebound Therapy: Delivered by trained practitioners, our rebound therapy sessions use a specialised trampoline to support children with a range of physical, sensory, and communication needs. The gentle rhythmic movement has well-documented benefits for balance, coordination, and overall wellbeing.
- Outdoor Activities: We provide a range of supported outdoor activities throughout the year, giving children the opportunity to connect with nature, build physical confidence, and enjoy themselves in a safe and supportive setting.
Coming Soon!
Our New Outdoor Adventure Park We are thrilled to share that our brand-new outdoor park is nearly complete and will be opening shortly. The park features a large natural timber adventure trail with climbing frames, rope nets, monkey bars, and a climbing wall, set across a beautifully landscaped area with rolling grass mounds and plenty of open space for free play. It has been designed with accessibility and sensory experience in mind, so children of all abilities can explore, move, and play outdoors. We cannot wait to welcome children and families to this exciting new space.
All sessions are built around the individual child, and we work closely with families, schools, social workers, and healthcare professionals to ensure each visit is as positive and beneficial as possible. We are happy to discuss individual needs ahead of a first visit.
